This seminar is aimed at GPs and managers in general practice and covers all aspects of partnership responsibilities.

Course summary:

This seminar is delivered by LMC Law who’s core business includes Healthcare and General Practice in the UK. They work for a number of Local Medical Committees (LMCs) and GPs across the country, offering down to earth, practical advice. This seminar has been designed to address the range of issues that LMC Law have dealt with over the years and to offer practical solutions in dealing with them.

This one hour seminar provides an update on general data protection regulations and offers practical advice on the matters a practice should put into place to ensure that they are working within those regulations. The topics include:

  • Definitions including ‘processor’, ‘controller’ and ‘personal information’.
  • Principles of collecting and processing personal information.
  • What is a legitimate interest?
  • Employees and processing their information.
  • Privacy notices, data sharing and data processing agreements.
  • General information governance matters and subject access requests.

Course format:

The course will be run via Zoom- a joining link will be shared with you a few days before the event. It will be a seminar format, but questions will be welcome. There is an attendance limit of 30 people. 

Cost:

The course is delivered free of charge. We do offer the option of making a £10 donation, per delegate, to the Cameron Fund. All amounts will be gratefully received by the charity.

If you are unable to attend please consider whether your place can be used by a colleague. Late cancellations and DNAs are costly in terms of both finance and time – if you need to cancel please let us know at least 5 days before the course date.
